The Camden Arts Centre

Camden Arts Centre 001I love Camden Arts Centre. It's perfect for one of the UK's very many rainy or grim weather days, and the children really love it too. I wrote a piece raving about it for Travel Culture Magazine. I'd be very interested to know what you think.

Pluckley: Still Haunting for Britain

Pluckley CryptPluckley Given that our children love ghosts and cryptozoology and we live in a nation that seems to pride itself on frantic paranormal activity, every now and then I go and check such phenomena out for myself. Pluckley has received a paranormal downgrade in recent years. In 1989 it was granted the title of most haunted village in England by t...

SupercoolEstella and I made an extraordinary and special mother and daughter trip to Albania together. It was the very first piece that I had published for the brilliant Travel Belles site, and I got a lot of positive feedback about it, from Albanians who are keen to have their country discovered by more people, but by many other people from all over the wo...

Paparazzi signThere is a ridiculous sign outside the changing room of a gym in Swiss Cottage. It says "No Paparazzi! No snapping with camera phones in our changing rooms please" I'd like to know who exactly feels under threat of pap shots in the toilet. Made me laugh.

Kiss the Sky Bar

I posted this review on View London, just because this bar is such a great little place. Kiss the Sky Bar Hampstead is surprisingly low on great drinking venues that welcome small children. My Guest Blog on Nassau for The Adventure Travel Shop

I was really pleased to have the opportunity to be a Guest Blogger for The Adventure Travel Shop, it was one of my very first gigs, and I wrote about family holidays in the Bahamas at the Atlantis Resort. We were attracted to Atlantis Resort in The Bahamas for our last family break because it seemed to offer an easy introduction to the Caribbean f...

Dhaka, Bangladesh for the Bangladesh Web Guide

BangladeshDhaka isn’t somewhere that you can get the measure of over one long weekend, but as a British tourist travelling to Bangladesh for the first time, I wanted to give my suggestions for a successful short stay in this remarkable and often heartbreaking city. I was very pleased to see the piece published in the Bangladesh Web Guide, an online newspaper...
