Sardinia has long been recognised as a gem of the Mediterranean. Southern Sardinia is perhaps lesser-known thanks to the Northern enticements of Alghero and the Costa Smeralda, which is a pity, because the stunning small town of Pula risks being overlooked. I was prompted to write an article detailing its highlights for Got Saga.
Pula's main square, the Piazza del Popolo,is perfect for shopping or just mooching, particularly at S’Incontru for pizzas and local cocktails. The suckling pig and steak at Su Furriadroxu restaurant
, are both authentic regional specialties and utterly delicious. Pula also harbours an archaeology museum, lovely church and its own beautiful neighbouring beach, Nora.
Our villa was conveniently located five minutes’ drive from Pula, enjoying a private drive and a vast swimming pool. It’s run by the Sardinia Villa Collection
, which has rapidly gained a reputation as the go-to supplier of high end villas on the island.
