The always-brilliant Travel Belles
were keen for me to cover the Olympics for them in a kind of ad hoc London correspondent role. It was just as well that I had crawled over broken lass to procure two tickets to a women's basketball game, between the USA and France, which turned out to be absolutely thrilling and very close run indeed. It was somewhat painful to come out of the experience £150 lighter, but at least it was money well-spent in terms of an unforgettable experience for my companion and older daughter, Estella, and a chance to experience the space age attractions of the Javelin train and the Olympic Park. Do read my full account
of the adventure and take a nostalgia trip back to the summer of 2012.
